Sculpture: Faux Taxidermy

« back to classes page
Explore the playful art of sculptural storytelling in this five-week mixed-media course! Using papier-mâché, paper clay, and a variety of found and decorative materials, students will create their own whimsical faux taxidermy animal head to adorn their walls. Through hands-on
exploration, participants will learn the fundamentals of sculptural form, proportion, texture, and surface treatment while developing their own unique artistic vision. Whether inspired by wildlife, fantasy, or a mix of both, students will leave with a one-of-a-kind sculpture full of personality and imagination. No prior sculpture experience necessary—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment!
