Intro to Rowing for Women

Experience the thrill of rowing your own raft on the Colorado River in this women-only introductory course held in partnership with Defiance Rafting Company. The day begins with two hours of classroom instruction before heading to the river for six hours of hands-on practice on a Class I-II section. Learn the fundamentals of rowing, boat control, river reading, knot tying, boat rigging, river safety, and boat ramp etiquette while practicing eddy turns and maneuvering in a fun, supportive environment. Small class sizes provide plenty of individual coaching to help you build confidence on the water.

All river equipment is provided by Defiance Rafting Company.

Participants are welcome to bring their own PFD (lifejacket) if preferred. Lunch is not included.
