Learn the essential skills to sew confidently by hand and machine in this beginner-friendly course. Over six weeks you'll master core techniques through demonstrations and practical projects, completing 3-4 useful items.
By course end you will confidently operate a sewing machine, understand fabric types and appropriate uses, read, layout, and cut basic patterns, sew straight and curved seams, apply seam finishes, and perform everyday mending and repairs.
Bring your own sewing machine if you have one (but machines will be provided if needed).
This class will meet at the CMC Salida Annex (formerly HEA) across the street from the main campus on the corner of 9th and D St.
