Advanced Embroidery Fall 2026

This class is open to adult students who have already taken my Embroidery 101 beginner classes or have intermediate experience and are looking to advance their skills. Knitters and Quilters are welcome to bring a project they want to embroider too.

In this class students will bring their own supplies including scissors, needles, floss, frame and pattern of their choice.  I encourage students to pick a project from the list below and refer to Pinterest for inspiration. We will plan and execute each individual project from start to finish. Students will submit their project choices to me with a color plan prior to start of the program and the types of stitches they want to use.

Students must purchase one of the following books prior to class:
 
  1. Creative Stitching, Second Edition by Sue Spargo – 214 Pages of Step-by-Step Stitch Tutorials, 20+ New Stitches, Spiral Bound, Perfect for Quilters & Fiber Artists
  2. RSN Stitch Bank: 200 Essential Embroidery Stitches (Royal School of Needlework Guides)
And:
  1. Miniature Rhino Mini Sampler Sashiko kit on Etsy

SUGGESTIONS FOR PERSONAL PROJECTS
  • Sue Spargo’s Toned Down Sampler Kit
  • Canvas Sneakers ( I suggest the Converse brand) 
  • Blundstone boots
  • Denim jeans or jackets
  • Linen blouses
  • Sampler on Linen
  • Sashiko tea towel or pillow cover.
  • Knitted piece
  • Quilted piece
