Through practical vocabulary, everyday expressions, games, partner activities, and guided conversations, you'll begin communicating in Spanish from your very first class. Along the way, you'll improve your pronunciation, gain cultural insights, and build the confidence to use Spanish for travel, work, and everyday conversations in a fun, supportive environment.
Instructor Carlos Martin-Cespedes is an educator from Almería, Spain, who has lived and worked in Colorado since 2012. Passionate about experiential education and outdoor learning, he enjoys helping students build confidence, creativity, leadership, and real world skills.
Over the years, Carlos has worked as a Spanish teacher, outdoor educator, soccer coach, and advisor at Colorado Rocky Mountain School. Most recently, he taught English to immigrant middle school students in the Roaring Fork Valley and has also supported local families through Garfield County Social Services.
When he's not teaching, Carlos enjoys skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, soccer, playing guitar, chess, and reading. He loves bringing people together through sports and helps organize a weekly pickup soccer game in Carbondale.
