Civics involves not only the study of the rights and responsibilities of citizenship but also the study of how government works. In this class, you will learn the basics of how you can effectively participate in our democracy. You will learn about the structure of the government and how it works at the local, state, and federal levels. This class will examine elections, the lawmaking process, and how citizens can impact public policy. This class is taught by local government experts at High Five Access Media, which provides free video and podcast coverage of government meetings across the Vail Valley. Visit highfivemedia.org to watch and listen. Thanks to the support of the CMC Center for Civics, this class will be offered for free to the community.
