Fruit Trees & Shrubs - Prunning & Scionwood

Slideshow and lecture on the rationale for pruning fruit trees and berry bushes, pruning principles and rules of thumb, and how to collect fruit tree scionwood for propagation by grafting. Class includes hands-on demonstration and practice of fruit tree pruning, shrub pruning, and scionwood collection outside at the Carbondale Campus. Students must be 18 years or older. Vanessa Harmony is an arborist and Master Gardener.  She owns a plant nursery and consulting business specializing in hardy, edible perennial plants for Colorado. It is highly recommended that students take all 3 of the classes in this series for best outcomes.
