Cave Geoscience - Field Trip

After completing the Cave Geoscience class, continue your adventure with an exclusive guided field trip into the historic Fairy Cave at Glenwood Caverns. Led by Cave Guide Katrina Marzetta, this hands-on exploration takes you deeper into the cave, where you’ll climb, crawl, and experience geology up close. Along the way, Katrina will share fascinating history and explain the natural wonders hidden within this remarkable underground world.

Must be physically and mentally able to squeeze through sections as narrow as 18 square inches, climb steep scrambles, and comfortable with darkness/dirt. Participants must sign waivers and provide their own gear consisting of: helmet, head lamp, elbow and knee pads, gloves, long sleeves and pants, and hiking shoes. These items are required for field trip participation. Note: The trip route, duration, and participant involvement are at the discretion of the wild tour guide(s) to promote the safety, enjoyment, and education of all on the tour.  Katrina Marzetta has a PhD in Science Education from the University of Colorado and teaches Geography at Colorado Mountain College. She is also a part-time guide at Glenwood Caverns and enjoys kayaking, scuba diving, and of course, caving!

Participants must be 10 years or older. Those under 18 must have consent from a parent or legal guardian, and the parent or guardian is required to attend the caving trip with their minor.
